Recreation
Cape Breton Highlands National Park offers lots of fun and family-friendly recreational activities. Many of them are open all-year round while some are only open during certain seasons. Through these activities, tourists and travelers can up their experience here to a whole new level!

We have some of Canada's best trails which offer beautiful scenery of the park. Hiking, Cycling, Snowshoeing and Sightseeing are all very famous here. Take a scenic route on the Cabot Trail or walk our famous Skyline Trail and experience a view like none other.
Most of our trails are open year-round so you won't have to worry about trails being closed. Our 26 trails are all unique in their own way and each one offers a very different experience. If you spot some deer or moose, make sure to take a photo and tag us on twitter when you post it!

Not only will you experience the beauty of this park during daytime, but when night comes, the beauty jumps to a whole other level. Driving the Cabot Trail at night or camping at one of our famous grounds will be an experience like none other as you will be travelling "under the stars." There is so little light pollution here and you can see stars that you won't normally see in a city. Remember to make a wish when you see a shooting star!
For people who love fishing, our many lakes and rivers provide you with a terrific experience. Catch some salmon and trout and the joy you feel will follow you everywhere in the park!
